Light and darkness.
Both have purposes.
I am a daylight person. Always have been. I love my surroundings and feel more comfortable when I can see what is going on around me. Probably like most of us, really!
What about your internal light?
You might ask, "What Light do I have?"
The light of your soul.
Your internal drive, your passion, your inspiration, and your motivation to do things.
Your enthusiasm, your positive outlook, and the moral judgements to know what is right or preferred to what is dangerous and harmful. This is the unseen part of your physical being.
So how can you use your Light and that energy to make a difference in your world and the world at large?
Why do many of us feel
uncomfortable in darkness? Whether it is physical or emotional? Well, it feels bad.
The quickest way to bring light to darkness is of course, light!
Light from a lit match, your torch, an electric light bulb, or any other external light source.
Our soul can also help to provide light when emotional darkness prevails, through the conscious actions of our physical being. We can reach out to a friend in need, with a kind word or perhaps a hug of support. It really makes a difference and you may never know the full extent of how you helped.
We can bring light where there is desolation, destruction, violence, hurt caused from other people, and in areas where there is the absence of good in the world.
"I am the light needed in the world" -Lynda Kaplan
We have the ability to contribute to our world through our deeds and actions. We as human beings, have the unique difference when compared with all other creatures: We have the freedom of choice.
So we can choose to do acts of kindness or choose acts of violence, or hurt other people emotionally, and so on.
"Your acts of kindness have a ripple effect" -Lynda Kaplan
You do have the power to change the world: Around you and the world at large.
You acts of kindness and compassion can radiate far across the world. From your one act to another person, that person can become more inspired to help another. And so it flows on.
It is not from ego that compassion arises.
It is from your internal compass. Your soul can help drive you to help out another person (or animal).
You can and do make a difference.
Take a moment to think of how you have helped someone in need up till now.
Take that feeling and make a conscious decision to continue to make a difference to our world.
Provide your Light for the world to benefit. You make all the difference.
Remind yourself regularly that
"I am the light needed in the world".
Shine brightly and confidently.
